Re: tenant rights

The landlord would have to file suit, serve the lawsuit on you, and obtain a final judgment for possession in order to evict you. You may not have a written lease, but you have a lease nonetheless. If the landlord accepted advanced rent covering through January 2003 under an oral lease, the landlord cannot evict you for non-payment of rent. And if the landlord's deliberate misconduct has caused you damages you can prove, then you may be able to pursue a claim for such damages. Seek the advice of counsel in your area and good luck.

Re: tenant rights

Eviction requires a court order. If he interfered with your business he is liable for provable damages.
