Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Termination of Lease
Is there any provisions in the state of Florida that allowes a tenant to terminate a lease prior to ending date, such as a tenant buying a house, or he is being transfered to another location 150 miles away. The lease was for three years and expires in July of this year. Thanks for your help.

Termination of Fla. Lease
Is there any provisions in the state of Florida that allowes a tenant to terminate a lease prior to ending date?
You can terminate any lease by giving notice to the landlord. It is the consequences that you have to be concerned with. Unless your lease contained a early release clause, you may have to pay a buyout amount agreed upon by you and your landlord. You need to read your lease and see if your landlord has fully complied with all the landlord is supposed to do. If not, this may give you some negotiating ammunition. See if you can sublease your unit. Communicate with the landlord and next time negotiate for an early release clause.
