Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Timeshare
My husband and I purchased a timeshare in Florida with two other family members six years ago. Only the 3 men's names were put on the deed. Our cousin got divorced from her husband Joe (who's name is on the deed) shortly after the transaction, and they never paid anything towards the mortgage nor the maintenance fees. We want to donate the timeshare to a charity, but don't know how to get Joe's name off the deed. He's refused to sign anything, and we don't even know now where he is. We'd really like to get rid of this timeshare, but I don't know what to do.

Re: Timeshare
You need to speak with a real estate lawyer about filing a lawsuit known as a "partition." A "partition" is a lawsuit dividing property where all parties aren't available or willing to sign.
