Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

i have a timeshare and am unable to pay the maintenance fees. The fees are extremely late (nearly 2000 dollars. I called the company and they said that they do not take the units back as I offered to sign it back to them. I called the collection agency and they said that they will continue to accrue interest and update the credit bureau. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

This depends on how the debt is secured. If it is a personal recourse debt, the debt collectors will continue to bug you, until you either pay, or they determine that there is no money to collect. If they are violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act...by calling too early, too late, at work, harassing, threatening, using foul language, talking to your co-workers, etc...then this is a different situation. You need to have your contract reviewed by a real estate attorney.
