Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Transferring Ownership of Land

My parents are currently paying for property in Florida (empty plot of land, classified as agricultural) and want to transfer ownership over to me. What is required to do this? My parents live in Pennsylvania and I live in New York.

Re: Transferring Ownership of Land

Simple. A new deed must be prepared, signed by your parents and then filed with the County Clerk

together with the appropriate Tax forms. You may call me to discuss further.

A simple Deed from your parents covering the Florida property is all that is required. The Deed should show the actual residences of the Grantor and Grantee with the property description being the lorida property. The Deed gets recorded in Florida. Since the parents are making a gift, there may be some additional documents required to be attached to the Deed since there will probably be no payment made for the transfer. Best i9s to have a Florida title company prepare and record the Deed, so it is accurately prepared and all documents necessary recorded.
