Understanding a new Florida Law
Statute 501.1377 defines a ''Foreclosure-rescue consultant'' and says that it does not apply to: 1. a person excluded under 501.212 - My question is does that mean that this does not apply to a real estate agent? Can a real estate agent negotiate a short sale for their client and charge a fee up front to do so?

This is as brand new to lawyers as it is to realtors. For the time being, we are advising realtors that the new statute does apply to them (including the nasty $15,000 fines).
