Unreturned Security Deposit

My husband and I were renting a house in Port Saint Lucie, FL from a person who was located in Michigan. When we moved out we did a walk through with his realtor and she said that she would tell the homeowner that we should get our entire security deposit back. We vacated the property on October 27, 2006. We have made many, many attempts to contact the homeowner with no response from him. We have also sent him 2 certified letters asking him to contact us. What can we do now?

FS 83 has certain legal requirements regarding return of security. Retain an attorney. Good luck.
