Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

*URGENT*

Hello,

I recently received a notice from my Condo Board of Directors advising of some construction needing to be done to the entire building.

1) They are going to be chipping off the paint outside which will cause lots of dust. Therefore they are going to be installing Dust Walls in certain units. They have advised that any damage done to the floors and ceilings in the condo due to the dust wall construction will need to be repaired at the owners expense. (Broken Tiles, Paint, etc )

2) They have also advised that because of rebar that is rusting they may need to remove the windows and Patio doors of our unit, and that since theyre old they will then need to be replaced with new owes at the owners expense.

3) On top of all this, they have said that our unit needs to be prepared for this no later than Wednesday May 29th which is essentially in 5 days from now and we do not live in the Florida, we are located in Montreal, Quebec.

My question is, does the law in the state of Florida allow this? Is the Condominium board of governors allowed to basically force this on their owners and then hold them responsible financially for any repairs needed (Caused by their work) and for purchasing new patio doors and windows (that they removed) ??

Thank you so much for your time and your help.

Regards,

Santino Fasulo

Yes. You need someone (neighbor, relative, friend, attorney) to watch your place and deal with the contractors and Board while the work is done.
