Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
we own a vacation rental in the gran bahamas a studio and a efficiency suite.
Under our contract it states contract terms and conditions TBVC will carry such amounts of fire Casualties and public liability insurance on the resort and it's amenities as in the opinion of the bahamian government. Now they sent a bill last year for $1700 damages due to hurricane, we sent the a certified letter stating they are liable for that not us, Just wanted to know is that correct.
Thank you Dominic D'Anna

Depends upon what insurance was required. If they had what was required and some items were not covered, then you are probably responsible. Policies usually have very large Hurricane deductibles.
