Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Per wording in our Declaration of Condominium:

"Chapter 718, Florida Statues, (the Condominium Act"), as amended through the date of the recording of this Declaration, is incorporated into this Declaration by reference, and all provisions of the Condominium Act shall apply to this Condominium. All words used in this Declaration have the meanings and definitions set forth in the Condominium Act, unless otherwise provided herein."

My question is what does the word "through" means? Our Declaration was recorded in April 1983.

Does "as amended through" mean the Condo Act only applies as it was amended up to April 1983?

Or does "through" mean "going beyond the time of April 1983 and up to the present 2009 amendments of the Condo Act?

Thank you kindly.

Through is used to mean up to and including the date of the recording of this Declaration. So any amendments made to Chapter 718 up until April 1983 are incorporated into the declaration. However, subsequent amendments to Chapter 718 may explicitly state that they are incorporated into the declaration.

Its always dangerous to attempt to review legal documents without reviewing the entire document and all of the related documents. Especially if you have not reviewed these types of documents before. You should consult with an attorney.
