Former boss is spreading sexual lies
I worked for a company approximately 1 1/2 years. Last December, my boss/owner told me in a meeting with another manager that he had thought about taking me to bed for months. I told him not to go there. He asked if I had been talked to like that before. I said yes and don't go there. He asked what I did before. I told him I quit. He then asked if I had contacted a lawyer, I said no, I just quit, so don't go there, I like my job. He then started to talk as if he was concerned about harrassment in the work place. The other male manager said nothing, he just sat there.
I avoided any type of conversation or contact that would let my boss think I was interested.
In April, while in his office with just him, I was asking him work related questions, while he was waiting on a phone call he started to talk about a sex show he saw on HBO about lesbians and if I knew about it. I said no, not my life style, not interested. He proceeded to talk about it somemore. I did not respond hoping he would get the hint I didn't want to talk about it. There is more but I recently quit because of his attitude and history. Since then, I have found out he has been telling my coworkers I am a lesbian and hit on co-workers. What can I do?

From what you set forth, does not sound like a hostile work environment claim since they are very hard to prove under existing law. If you complained about the conduct, then you have have a retaliation claim. Under either situation, you may want to file a charge with the EEOC since you only have 300 days from the action complained about to do so. The claim you may have is a claim for slander or defamation, but it would be helpful if you can get third parties to give written proof. Call or e-mail me further if you wish to discuss. Thanks.

Document your complaints (preferably by sending emails) and complain to senior management or human resources, and contact my law firm prior to leaving your job.
