Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Florida
There is a guy I work with that made sexual remarks to me on several occasions (I am male). It continued and made me uncomfortable so I told him to stop talking like that around me and to me. He did not stop so I went to my supervisor with the issue and an investigation was done. After the investigation, I was informed that the other guy was told not to come near me or speak to me unless it was work related. I was told nothing could be done because it was my word against his. I thought everything was resolved and then a week later the guy would drive by my work area and give me the bird and continue with the sexual remarks. Even though he is not supposed to be in my area unless absolutely necessary for the job, he makes it a point to come near me any chance he gets to make comments. I have a couple of people who have witnessed him doing this. I again went through the proper chain of command and was told there was nothing that could be done about this guy, that basically I had to ignore it and do my job. I was told, though, that if he was doing this to a female or to somebody in management he would be immediately terminated. Management did tell me he did this same type of thing to another employee who used to work for the company. What are my options for dealing with this situation?
