Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Florida
When the harasser is the CEO
I am the Assistant to a CEO who is sexually harassing me. I am also being "grabbed" by a member of our Board of Trustees.
To whom would I report sexual harassment by the CEO and a member of our Board of Trustees if my office policy states that I should report any harassment to my supervisor? In other words, reporting it to a subordinate of my boss seems ineffective because the subordinate may feel his/her job is at risk.
I am at a loss as to whom I should report this to.

Re: When the harasser is the CEO
Recent guidance from the EEOC regarding unlawful harassment by supervisors states that a complaint procedure that instructs employees only to report harassment to their immediate supervisor is inadequate. Employers should always designate more than one individual to take complaints precisely because of the situation you find yourself in. I trust you have made it clear to the CEO and the Trustee that their actions are unwelcome. Good luck and send me an e-mail if you have any more specific questions.
