Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Florida

hostile work place

I work directly for the highest position at my location. Over the last 90 days this individual has struck me on at least 20 occasions. In areas ranging from the top of my head to the center of my back. I have indicated to him how much it has hurt but it continues. he has done this in the presence of other staff members. the most recient incident occured when he walked up behind me a punched me in the lower back hard enough to knock me into a wall. I am afraid the he is going to injure me or someone else. I am confident that he will relatiate if I make this a issue BUT ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. What can i do?

Re: hostile work place

You might have several options. You could call the state attorney's office if you feel the contact is rising to the level of "criminal battery". You could retain an attorney to write him a letter to remind him of "civil battery". If the contact is gender motivated, and depending upon the number of employees in the workplace, you might have options to file claims for sexual harassment. Consulting an attorney or the state attorney's office might be a good first step.
