Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in Florida
I could not tell my work about the harassment or they would fire me
I am a male and I have been a victim of sexual harassment by another male at my previous job, I was not able to come forward to my superiors for fear of being fired. The harasser is curently being sued by a co-worker who was fired shortly after telling my supervisor about the harassment. I was fired 3 weeks after being informed that my co-worker who was involved with the law suite had listed me as a witness. I feel that I was fired because of this harassment and wish to file a claim against this company for firing me aswell as letting this harassment happen to me and others. Does the fact that I was unable to come forward hurt my case??

Your question cannot be answered simply. It depends on what other options you had at the time to report this harassments and that would depend on the company you worked for, their size, policies and culture. I suggest you speak with an attorney. The EEOC web site at www.eeoc.gov has a lot of good general information you might want to look at.
