Legal Question in Social Security Law in Florida
I am currently undergoing a continuing disability review as I am on Social Security/Disability. This review has been a long process since I first turned in the paperwork on May 1. I do not even know if an end is in site. I recently recieved more paperwork to fill out with more questions. I have recieved a call or 2 from social security over this period of time asking this or that about my case. I guess this is how the reviews go. The truth is that I do not even want to be on disability anymore as I feel that I can work, at least part time. Can I choose to end the review by telling social security that I would like to try at least part time work? I don't see why the review should go on any longer when I feel that I have improved enough to work at least part time. So can I ask them to end it with the understanding that I am looking for work and thus I do not want to be on SS anymore? I am 38 years old and I cannot make a life on the little amount that they pay me anyway. Even if they were to find me still disabled I do not want to be part of this anymore as it is my goal to get a job and earn a decent living. So can I end the process or is this unwise at this point?

You have a right to discontinue in the program Before you tell SSA you might wish to contact them about the "Ticket to Work" program which allows you to work while keeping your money and health insurance.
