financial penalties
My fiance owes money in taxes and to a lawyer, he is paying them off slowly. I am worried that if we get married, his old debts become my debts and my house could have a lien on it or my tax refund garnished. Is this the case?

Re: financial penalties
His debts will not become yours. However, you will not be able to put his name on your house, file jointly, or have a joint bank account. He should resolve his tax problem He may qualify for an Offer in Compromise or an Installment Plan. He may also be able to get the penalties abated. Steve Klitzner
