Legal Question in Tax Law in Florida

My husband had a corporation in his name only. I filed his corporation taxes with what he told me. I now find out and divorcing him because a lot of the money he said went places actually did not. I am scared that if he will be audited I will get into trouble. Will I since I am married to him and filed but not an officer of the corporation?

There is not enough information provided to give an answer. You should first discuss this with your divorce lawyer (you do have one don't you) sometimes these income and tax discrepancies can be apportioned between the parties in the divorce decree (but such apportionment is not binding on the IRS or taxing authorities). But since the returns were already filed you can file amended returns, but only if they accurately reflect income, deductions, and credits OR you can wait for an audit or alleged deficiency and see if your particular circumstances will entitle you to spousal relief. Again, I don't have enough facts know what problems you may have or possible solutions.
