Suggest that you respond to the specific notice from the IRS to contest, object to,
or agree to the asserted tax liability. Being in prison does not justify non-payment
of taxes but it may explain your non-receipt of previous notices. Depending on the
response from the IRS, you may use other options to compromise, pay in
installments, or assert that you are not liable for the taxes.
