Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I was in an auto accident in florida this morning. I hit the car in front of me who made a sudden stop at a yield sign. There was no major damage only minor scratches that can be buffed out. I literally wiped my front end off and the rear end of the car I hit and the scratches almost disappeared. The other party took pictures of my car and hers. I proceeded to take my own pictures. The police were not called because it was a bump so No police report was filed. I gave the person my DL, car insurance info and phone number as they requested it. They only gave me their DL. They had no insurance card after I gave them mine and my request for their phone number was denied after giving them mine. The person said they were not injured but before leaving the scene they said their back was hurting and proceeded to tell me that their car would need to be fixed. Along with the fact they were still recouperating from a previous back injury caused by another auto accident. I am afraid of what might happen to me without a police report. I contacted my insurance agent and they said unless the person contacts my insurance company to do nothing. What then? How should I handle the situation? Should I contact my insurance company about the accident? What if the person wants money directly from me? What is my liability to this person? What do I need to do?

Your insurance agent is right on target. You don't really need to do anything at this point. You did everything properly so there shouldn't be any liabilty. Even if they do pursue something, then you have your insurance company to protect you.
