Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

auto accident ticket

I was involved in an accident. 4 cars involved. I was #3. myself and #4 received rear collision tickets. neither myself or #4 were given the opportunity to tell how the accident occoured to the officers on the scene. I told the officer at the scene he did not hear all the facts of the crash. and I did not hit the rear of #2 . his L/r slid into my path after he contacted #1 and only my ft rt fender caught his l/r as I saw his car slide into my clear path as I was stopping. he also filled out the report inconsistent with the damages of each vehicle. indicating damage to the wrong areas of each vehicle, however consistent with his opinion of what happened, with out the words from all parties involved. in fact only the 2 vehicles which could not have seen the whole thing as it was behind them. how can I appeal in court the misrepresentation and wrong info on his report as now I am being sued for injurys in veh 1 and 2 after the night of the accident

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Enter a plea of not guilty to the ticket. When you receive notice of the trial, make sure you appear, preferably represented by competent counsel, and present your side of the case. The better prepared you are, the better chance you will have of having the case dismissed.

Please understand that a positive result in traffic court is not dispositive of the personal injury suits that have been filed against you. Your attorney provided by your insurance company will have to defend you on those actions separately. If you do not have insurance you should obtain counsel on your own which may prove very costly.
