Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
My boyfriend has a few unpaid traffic violations in Florida. He is currently down to his last 90 days of a 3 year prison sentence. Is he able to request his traffic tickets to be converted to jail time instead of paying the fines? He has let them accumulate to the point that he is not able to afford to pay all of his fines. If the fine can be converted to jail time, can it be concurrent with the time he is serving now? How does he request to serve jail time instead of paying the fines when he is already incarcerated and is not able to appear before a judge?

Jail time is not an alternative to a fine. He must pay them or he could not pay them but never get a license.
