Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I am going to court tomorrow. I had two bench warrants on traffic violation cases. (DWLS) that I was not aware of. I called the judges chambers and I scheduled to meet with her on July 22 at 9 AM. How worried should I be of going to jail? After all I am going to court now, I moved from that prior residence in January. The first court date missed was in March then the other in June. A bailbondsmen contacted the judge on the missed date in June. Does that offer any leverage?

You are at the discretion (or should I say mercy) of the judge. If you offer a good honest explanation then the judge could withdraw the warrant. Of course they don' have to despite your explanation. If the judge had the courtesy to meet you then you have a decent shot. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I didn't see your message until today (Thursday), which means my reply is likely to be of no use to you. Regardless, if it isn't too late, I strongly suggest you retain local counsel to attend court with you. An experienced attorney who is familiar with both the law and the judge may be the difference between going to jail and walking out the front door of the courthouse.
