Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
Disclose Letter
What are the steps in writing a disclosure letter to the sheriff's office that wrote a citation, requesting calibration log, officer's certification to operate the radar, and radar manual? I believe this is public information. Thanks

Re: Disclose Letter
There's no magic to it. You just write a letter making a "Sunshine Act request" and be specific about what you want. If you have time before the hearing, you might try making a "discovery request" first. It probably won't work (the police don't technically have to comply with "dicovery"), but "discovery" in a criminal case is free, and they will charge you for a Sunshine Act request, so you might want to try discovery first.
