Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Failure to appear

My husband was arrested this morning for a warrent. According to what I got of the internet his charge discription is FTA - Failure of defendant on bail to appear/charged with a misdemeanor. The warrent was issued in 2000 and he thinks it was for traffic ticket for driving on a suspended lisence. He just sent in 3 money orders to take care of 3 tickets from 2000 and 1999. They were mailed today in priority mail. What can I expect from all of this? Will he have to do jail time or what? i am not real sure of what the original charge was. Right now this is all I know.

Re: Failure to appear

It depends on the whole situation, prior record, and the actual charge filed. You may have a statute of limitations issue to look into. I would recommend consulting a local criminal attorney for assistance. Depending on the circumstances your husband may be sitting in jail on a no bond because of the failure to appear.
