Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
I have had to come to FLA to take care of my ailing parents, temporarily, but have had to get a job to make ends meet. I own a home and another car in another state. My job required me to get a FLA drivers license, so I got one. DO I HAVE TO REGISTER MY CAR AND GET INSURANCE DOWN IN FLA, even though my husband is still living in Georgia. And the vehicle is registered in both of our names and the insurance is all from GA.

If you got a job working here and you are living here, even if only temporarily, then you MUST get the car registered in Fla. If you do not, then you are committing a misdemeanor, punishable by up to 60 days jail. By definition, if you register, you must get at least the $10K minimum insurance policy.
