Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
In Florida, I was changing lanes to make a left turn on a 3 lane road. I signaled, checked my blind spot and started the lane change. I was rear-ended by a motorcyclist, who did not sustain any injuries. It was determined that I would receive a careless driving citation. The motorcycle hit me in the back of my car. Is this all legit?

Yes it is. Even though you did all the right things and could even potentially sue the motorcyclist, fault is not usually relevant when it comes to the citation itself. You are deemed to know of ALL dangers around you, even if it was not your fault. That all said, you should talk to an attorney in your area to see if there may still be defenses.
