Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
I was with my girlfriend, driving her car back to my place. Ended up getting pulled over for speeding and she didn't have her new insurance card in the car at the time. So they wrote me a ticket for $10 for not showing proof of insurance. I was under the impression that I was covered under her insurance as she told me and thought it was weird I received the ticket instead of her. Am I going to have problems when I go down to show proof of insurance with her, in her name with the ticket being in my name? Also note, that I'm not specifically on her policy and at the time don't have my own insurance because I currently don't own a vehicle. I am located in Gainesville, FL. Thank you.

You should be able to show the valid insurance and thus get the case dismissed for the $10 fee you mentioned.
