Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
Officer's jurisdiction
Do an officer have the jurisdiction to issue a citation in another county? Say you were speeding before the county line, the officer clocked you prior to the line but was not able to perform a traffic stop until you have reached the other county?

Re: Officer's jurisdiction
He likely does. Contiguous counties usually have "Mutual Aid" agreements which allow the police from one jurisdiction to perform limited tasks in the neighboring jurisdiction. There is also the doctrine of hot pursuit, which would likely allow the police to chase you from within the jurisdictional county into a neighboring county.
Of course, you can always raise the issue, but it is likely not a winner.
