Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Parking in a Tow-Away Zone

I recently pulled into a local restaurant that was extremely crowded with teenagers. There were no spaces to park in the restaurant's lot, so my friend and I searched for a spot. Most spots had ''Tow Away Zone'' signs. Then we found an area behind a shopping complex. A couple cars were parked there already, and there were absolutely no signs saying a person could not park there. If there had been, we wouldn't have parked there. Fifteen minutes later I came back to my car to leave, and it was on a tow truck. Luckily, the guy dropped it right there for me for 50 dollars, without taking it away. He had been ordered by a cop to come tow my car, and also the other cars. I want to write a letter of complaint to the owner of the complex for failure to post signs, and demand that he/she pay me 50 dollars since I believe it was his/her fault. It was unnecessary that I had to pay 50 dollars, and I will take it to a small claims court if needed and if it is thought that I have a good case. Do I have a good case?? P.S. I already have the complex owner's information and have taken pictures of the site with no signs.

Re: Parking in a Tow-Away Zone

You said the law enforcement owner ordered the cars towed. How can you show that 1) the cars were wrongfully towed, and 2) it is the owners fault?
