Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
Does the police have the right to ask for your social security nr?
While driving in Florida, the police had pulled a car over, as I pass by in the lane adjacent to him. He pulled me over stating that I should have move to the other lane of traffic and then proceeded to ask me for my SS id number.
Can I be pulled over for not changing lanes and asked for my Social Security nr?

Failure to change lanes for an emergency services vehicle is a crime in Florida. However, I do not believe that a police officer may inquire as to your social security number.
