Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
i was pulled over for going 73 mph in a 55mph road. the officer gave me a ticket for not having my registration, not changing the address on my DL and a warning for the "excessive speeding". the proof of registration ticket was dismissed before my hearing on the failure to change address on DL. during my hearing i was only contesting the failure to change address on my DL. i sucessfully contested the ticket and the judge dismissed the failure to change address ticket. however he convicted me on the speeding ticket. Since there was no speeding ticket at the time he made the officer write one in the court room to give to me. so i was convicted of speeding even though i wasnt charged with it. is this legal

Officers have the right to amend a charge in open court. However, you need notice of a NEW ticket so that you have time to defend yourself and get an attorney. This may not be legal so I suggest you contact an attorney to see if you should appeal or file the appropriate motion.
