Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
I recently backed up in a parking lot into another car. The officer asked the other driver if she was speeding and she said she was only going 20-25 mph. It was very minimal damage to both cars. I received a traffic ticket. She did not. When backing up, I looked behind me both ways. I saw her, but thought she was coming slower than she was. I backed out and she was behind me and I hit her. Is there anyway I can fight this, or am I stuck paying the ticket and getting the points?

You should definitely fight this. However, I suggest you get an attorney who can properly cross examine the other driver, witnesses, and the officer. You stand a much better chance at winning.
I encourage you to contact a criminal defense lawyer who handles a high volume of traffic related offenses, as they should be most familiar with your type of case and how best to represent your interests at a hearing. You have several options as it relates to handling the ticket, but you only have thirty (30) days to elect which option you wish to pursue, so I encourage you to act quickly so as to protect your rights and preserve your defenses! Feel free to call my office should you wish to discuss your options.
