Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
I was recently pulled over for having a brake light out, and was given a criminal traffic citation for driving with an expired license over 6 months. I was given a court date, but was wondering if there would be any chance of talking to someone and having the case dismissed somehow? I have since gotten my license renewed and this is the first time ive done this (although my license was suspended in the past because i didnt pay a ticket for not showing my license before). Also, could i be looking at any jail time?
1 Answer from Attorneys
While jail time is unlikely it is still possible. Since you've updated your license that will help. Usually with the help of an attorney, you could get the judge to agree to amend this to a non-criminal charge. Talk to an attorney in your area right away, before your first court date.
