Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

revoked license

My son had 2 fail to pay and suspensions ...on his third failure to pay he was sent to court. He paid the ticket in advance and was given his license back. He pled no contest and the judge withheld ajudication. My son was told to pay a fine in which he did. Now 45 days later he get a letter from DMV stating his license is revoked for 5 years. the suspensions were all failure to pay ( he forgot or was 2 days late) Do you think there is just a mix up with the DMV and the courts. Should he be able to rectify this on his own with a few calls. Thanks in advance for any advise. PS at court my son asked the judge if his license was ok now and the judge said yes.

The judge may not have had the prior record available to him at the hearing. If the DMV sent him a notice telling him that his license was suspended for 5 years, then it should never be taken lightly. He should call first thing on Monday morning to see if they were not aware of how the latest case was resolved. Has he resolved the prior two? If not, then the suspension will stay. If he has, he may need to hire an attorney to request a hearing on the suspension.
