Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
My son just moved to Florida from NY 8 days ago. He was pulled over for a blown headlight and found out his NY license was suspended. The officer took his license from him. We contacted NY DMV and he owed a 100 fine, which we paid. Was the officer supposed to take his license. It is cleared now, but he can't turn it in to get a Florida license because he doesn't have it. Thank you.

You are probably need to get some sort of clearance from NY showing his license is now clear. Florida DMV will then allow him to get a Florida license if that is his intent.
