stupid citation

A 13 yr boy hit my car on pass.frnt.I was sitting still in apt.lot waiting to turn west. He came from east. Didn't see him coming. Gave card told him to have his dad call me. He is ok. Swollen index finger.refused ride home.He left scene first,no helmet.Police page me,give add.come to my house give me ticket for leaving scene w/ injury. cop assumed me guilty.Thoght I hit kid,took off.Went to court.plead not guilty,have too get pdef.Should I be worried?Have perfect driving record.I want citation dismissed.No record.No points. What are the chances?Want to get on with quite little life. Thanx

This is not a stupid question. First YES you should be worried. Defend this case with all the resources you can muster. IF you are found liable ; Your insurance rates will go up, you could be sued for damges the kid has sustained, you could be found guilty of a civil infraction that will effect you license, and criminal charges could follow. Do not plead guilty to anything that you are not guilty of EVER! GOOD LUCK...
