Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

I got a traffic ticket for a red light violation. My first step was to write the judge and plead my case. The judge just post-poned my court date. Then I hired an attorney to represent me. The attorney went in for my court date and the judge continued the case for a later date. My question is sine the judge continued my case, does this favor me?, or is this irrelevant to my outcome.
