Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida
I witnessed a car accident a few days ago. Nobody was hurt & it wasnt a terrible accident. Will insurance most likely to settle it or will it most likely go to court? If it does go to court, will I get a letter in the mail or personally delivered? My mailman always loses my mail so I'm scared I wouldn't get it and be in trouble for failure to appear but doesn't florida statue 48.031 cover that? Thank you.

Most don't go to court. Those that day, witnesses often do not show up. You can only get in trouble if you got notice, ignored it, AND then only if a prosecutor wants to pursue it, which I haven't seen in my 17 years of practice. If you don't get notice, then you can't be in trouble.
