I am a legatee of a will. There have been many problems in executing this will. To make along story short,the date of death was approx. 18 years ago.I have been notified that I will receive the specified amount the will prescribes,plus interest on the funds to date as prescribed by law.what is the interest rate? It would depend on why there was a late payout to you, how the money has been handled in the past 18 years and the judge who has the case. If the late payout to you was not the fault of anyone in particular, I do not see any interest penalty being assessed.
