Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
assets acquired before marriage
First, how long do you have to contest a will. Second, I am 26 years old I lived with my grandmother & grandfather since I was 9 months old. They were my legal guardians. My grandfather bought me a piano at age 4 which I took 7 years worth of classes on. My grandfather passed when I was 10. My grandmother remarried 2 years later. I continued to live with her and her new husband until I was 19 years old. She passed away 2 years ago. I have asked her husband if I can have my piano and he will not give it to me. He claims that it is not mine and that everything in the house belongs to him. I even have pictures with me on the piano with my grandfather when I was 5 years old. The only reason I did not take the piano to begin with is because I moved into a small one bedroom apartment on the 4th floor with my husband. My grandmother told me that as soon as I get a house that I can have my piano. Can he do this?

Without proof of ownership you have no claim.
