Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Aunt Died
I have a Great Aunt that died in Florida years ago. She had no children. A few relatives flew down to take care of things. Other relatives were told not to worry, there was just enough to cover funeral arrangements. I now she her name popping up on the unclaimed site for FL for dividends etc. I also heard she might have heard she might have had a lot of money that she was left from someone else. We now think, one of my cousins might have posed as her, to withdraw her accounts etc. We are not sure. I am not looking for money but now we have relatives thinking other relatives cheated them, but no one is saying it outload. Is there anyway to check if there was a will, or her estate was handled correctly? I would even turn it over the State agency to follow up on.

Re: Aunt Died
If your Aunt's will was probated it would be listed in with the Clerk of the Court. It depends on the County in which your aunt died, as some County's have more on line information than others. You can start your search there. As to the unclaimed property, you can also get information from the web site and probably an application.
Any further questions, feel free toe-mail me your telephone number and time of day to call.

I doubt that the state will do anything. You should open a p[robate and then that will allow you to investigate with legal process what happened to her assets, if any.
