Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Aunt died - medical bills received

My aunt died in April, 2007. Although covered by medicare and supplemental insurance some small balances remain. I have informed the collection agencies of her death and told them that as a relative I am not liable. They continued to send bills. Am I liable in any way? At this time I am also unemplyed.

Please advise

You have no personal liability for your aunt's medical bills unless you signed a guarantee or otherwise promised to be responsible for her obligations. The aunt's estate is the only entity that is responsible for her debts. If she had assets and they were distributed to you, then the creditors can look to those assets for compensation.
