can a will be contested if a adult child listed in the will is not the biological child to the person writing the will, and this person has raised this child to an adult and never known it was not his.

An interesting question. I am afraid I have not had to answer this question before, and I do not have time to research it for you. I would consult with a local attorney experienced in probate. It is possible that it could be contested claiming that there was a mistake in fact. But it would probably be difficult to prove that the decedent would not have included the child even if he knew the truth.
