consent@waiver of notice, pet for administration docs

rec a consent@waiver of notice@ petition for administration from my wife's sister atty's want's me to sign consent me and my wife's family are in agreement with what to do with the estate, my wife's will was done prior to our marriage but signing the consent@waiver of notice i am not loosing my rights to what i am entitled too ?

It is unclear as to who's estate you are willing to sign a consent and waiver. If it is your wife's will, you may be signing away your right of election (right to receive money from the estate even if you were not left anything in the will). It is very important to know your rights and any time line for asserting these rights.

If you are merely consenting to her appointment as Personal Representative and admittance of the will to probate,no.As her husband, you must timely present your claim to your share of the estate.
