Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

CoOwner on Title

My mother has made me the co-owner on the title to her mobile home. She does not have a will so when she does pass away will I be the legal owner?

Re: CoOwner on Title

As a co owner you own an undivided 1/2. Her estate will have the right to the other half.

Re: CoOwner on Title

If your mother made you a co-tenant, you have an undivided one-half interest in the property. The other one-half would pass through her estate.

If your mother titled the property so that you are a joint owner with right of survivorship, you would be entitled to the property at her death.

You need to know whether you are a co-tenant or joint owner with right of survivorship. They are two different ways of titling property.
