Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida

Dead tenants Estate

I am storing my dead tenant's personal property - lots of antique furniture-- in a pod on my property as well as his car. His personal representative's attorney has contacted me for the return of dead tenant's property. I have bills for that storage unit as well as a decon cleaning service bill to clean the condemed apt. The tenant has money in the bank as well as alot of furniture that has value. Do I have to return these items because he said to or does he have to probate the will in which he is mentioned with the court. How can I get payment for my expenses I have spent which are approx. $9,000.00. Yes the tenant has money and his lease began 1992- present. Can I collect the balance of rent owed on the lease even if he died? His will says to pay his debts upon his death. How can I make sure I get reimbursed?

Re: Dead tenants Estate

You must file a claim in the probate court. Be quick. There is only a limited amount of time to do so (90 days from publication of notice to creditors)
