death certificate for non-family

What is the usual amount of time involved for an attorney to get a copy of a death certificate of a friend that I owned joint property with ?

Assuming nothing unusual, the doctors sign off as expected and the funeral home does their part, then getting a death certificate through the mail should not take more than a few weeks. In some counties the process can be done rather quickly if you are will to spend the afternoon waiting in line at public records.
