A trust does offer benefits that a will does not, such as probate avoidance, protection in the case of incapacity, etc. A trust can often be resolved rather quickly, but the exact amount of time depends on many factors, including claims against the estate, whether an estate tax is owed (none right now, but congress may change that), and the terms of the trust.
The best advice that I can give to you is to see an attorney that practices in the area of estate planning, have a consultation, and get good advice based on your individual circumstances.
If you are in the Tampa Bay area, and I can be of assistance I would be pleased to meet with you.
It depends on what you had in mind. Contact an estate planning attorney for a consultation. Regards,
