Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Florida
Deceased property being sold
My mother and grandfather owned a house, the deed states tenant in joint with rights of suvivorship. There is also a joint checking account. My mother's will states that her property be evenly distributed amoung the 4 children. Since her death, the house has been sold and most of the contents. We have not been offered anything but pictures. We have been told several times by my grandfather that all of it is his. My sister is personal representive and lives 3 hours away, the rest of us however live in maine and cannot be there to oversee things. We have been accused of stealing things from the house after the funeral. What legal rights do we have and could an attorney from maine represent us?
Thank You

Re: Deceased property being sold
An attorney from Maine cannot help. Since your grandfather survived your mother, he owns everything that was held jointly with rights of survivorship.
